Concave & Convex Arcs
Perspective Tool
Use to do 3D rotations on 2D objects while maintaining perspective.
Hint: Double-click on the tool icon to bring up the Transform dialog and enter rotation angle. Option-double click to change the perspective point and distance.
Multigon Tool
Use to create polygons or starbursts.
Hint: Double-click on the tool icon to modify the shape the tool creates.
Calligraphic Pen Tool
Use to draw freeform calligraphic shapes.
Hint: Double-click on the tool icon to change the pen angle and width, or to change the tool into the Freehand tool or the Variable Weight tool.
Variable Weight Tool
Use to draw freeform variable width curves.
Hint: Double-click on the tool icon to change the tool into the Calligraphy Pen or the Freehand tool.
Hand Tool
Drag using the hand to reposition the bitmap image.
Hint: When using other tools, press and hold the Space Bar to temporarily change to the Hand Tool.
Magnification Tool
Click on the character to zoom in. Hold the Option key down while clicking on the character to zoom out.
Hint: When using other tools, hold down the Command key and the Space Bar to temporarily change to this tool.
Measurement Tool
Drag to measure pixel distances.
Hint: Press and hold the Shift key to deconstrain.
Move Tool
Drag to move the entire bitmap image with respect to the origin.
Marquee Tool
Drag to capture a selection of pixels, which can then be moved. Click outside of the selection to remove the Marquee.
Eraser Tool
Drag to white out black areas.
Hint: Double-click on the tool icon to erase the entire character.
Pencil Tool
Use to turn pixels on or off.
Hint: Clicking or dragging on a black pixel makes it white; clicking or dragging on a white pixel makes it black.
Line Tool
Use to draw straight line segments.
Hint: Hold down the shift key while using the tool to constrain lines to 45┬░ angles.
Magnification Tool
Click on the character to zoom in. Hold the Option key down while clicking on the character to zoom out.
Hint: When using other tools, hold down the Command key and the Space Bar to temporarily change to this tool.
Measurement Tool
Drag to measure.
Skew Tool
Drag to skew the selection.
Hint: Double-click on the tool icon to bring up the Transform dialog and enter skewing angles.
Scale Tool

Flip Tool
Drag to flip the selection.

Use to place corner points and curve points. Click to place a corner point; drag to place a curve point.
Freehand Tool
Use to draw smooth freeform curves.
Hint: Double-click on the tool icon to change the tool into the Calligraphy Pen or the Variable Weight Pen.
Line Tool
Use to draw straight line segments.

Oval Tool.
Use to draw ovals or circles.
Hint: To draw circles, press and hold the shift key while dragging with the tool.
Rectangle Tool.
Use to draw rectangles or rounded rectangles.
Hint #1: Double-click on the tool icon to specify rounded rectangles.
Hint #2: To draw squares, press and hold the shift key while dragging with the tool.
